Remembering the life and service of LCPL Blaine Welch, Killed In Action in Vietnam 22 August 1968.
Wasatch County’s only combat loss during the Vietnam War.
The Heber community is invited to the remembrance and public dedication of 100 North with the honorary designation of LCPL B.A. Welch USMC Boulevard.

In 1967 LCPL Blaine Welch left his home town of Heber, Utah to enlist into the Untied States Marine Corps. In December 1967, after completing Recruit Training ,School Of Infantry and Scout Sniper Training,
LCPL Welch would be assigned to the 9th Marine Regiment in Vietnam. On 22 August 1968, LCPL Welch was Killed In Action.
He would be the only Service Member from Wasatch County Killed In Action In Vietnam and Wasatch County’s last Service Member Killed In Action since 1968.
