Heber City Art Advisory Committee Announces
Call for TAP Grant Applicants
Eligible Arts & Culture, Performing, and Visual Artists may receive Inaugural TAP Tax Disbursements
[Heber City, Utah, January 16, 2024] – In coordination with the Heber City Art Advisory Board, Heber City is
pleased to announce the application window for the inaugural disbursement of Wasatch County TAP TAX
funds is now open. The Wasatch County TAP (Trails, Arts, and Parks) Tax program was adopted after being
voted in as a ballot initiative in November 2022. The program specifies that a small portion of sales tax for nonessential
goods in Wasatch County is earmarked for reinvestment into the local trails and parks and fostering
arts in the Heber Valley. Available funds from this program for 2023 have been allocated to the local
governing entities. Heber City will accept art-specific TAP grant applications until March 11, 2024, at 5:00 pm.
Applicants may learn about the funding process and apply online at [ https://www.heberut.gov/arts ]. The
Heber City Art Advisory Committee will review, score, and make recommendations for TAP funding grants to
projects supporting the City’s Arts and Culture livelihood (music, visual art, drama, creative writing,
photography and dance, etc.). Applications for all proposed arts and culture projects will be solicited and
come from Heber City residents, non-profit businesses, and city staff annually for consideration in being
awarded funding from a portion of the TAP Tax. The City Council will make the final determinations based on
the recommendations of the TAP Arts Advisory Committee.
This inaugural call for TAP grant applicants is an excellent opportunity to grow and strengthen the arts
community in the Heber Valley. We encourage all who qualify for eligibility to apply.
